Britney Spears’ Sizzling Swim Style Through the Years: From Sexy One-Pieces to Teeny Bikinis

Sexy swim style! Britney Spears has a pretty amazing bikini body — and she doesn’t shy away from showing off her figure. The 40-year-old singer takes to the ‘gram time and again to show off her progress at the gym — and her super cute swimsuits.

Whether she’s in an itsy-bitsy cropped costume for a music video or sweating it out in a sports bra and shorts, the “Baby One More Time” singer looks great in just about everything. After all, she makes sure to stick to a solid gym routine. 

“Well … for the love of God I finally see some definition in my abs !!! It’s nice to finally see some results,” she wrote in an October 2021 Instagram.

So how does she stay so fit? She switches things up pretty frequently, but she does her fair share of weight lifting with fiancé Sam Asghari and dances on the regular (just take a peep at her Instagram for proof!).

While Spears’ killer body remains a constant, her actual swim style has changed a decent amount over the years. Back in the early 2000’s, the superstar would opt for bolder looks, wearing polka dot prints and bandeau tops. 

But as she has gotten older, she's started to keep it a tad bit more understated, donning solid hues and traditional bikini cuts. That’s not to say that what she wears poolside is boring by any means. Even though it may be on the simple side, little ruffled details and pretty colors keep her two-piece game strong.

Plus, her favorite looks don’t break the bank! In fact, Target is one of her go-to places to scoop up new swimsuits. In August 2021, the “Circus” singer took to Instagram to show off her new striped blue and white suit from the retailer.

A well-toned Spears showed off her iconic abs in a teeny-weeny two-piece in Sydney, Australia. "I probably do like 500-sit-ups," Spears has told Oprah Winfrey. "And If I'm having a really good day, I'll do like probably, 1,000."

"Lounging around" as a newlywed caused Spears to put on pounds, she has said (here at a hotel pool in Marina del Rey, CA).

Bun in the oven! The parents-to-be strolled along the beach hand-in-hand in Destin, Florida, the day she announced she was pregnant with their first child.  While carrying Sean, Spears gave in to her cravings at Wendy's and Chili's.

Hours before her infamous interview with Matt Lauer aired, Spears (pregnant with #2) soaked up rays in Miami. When asked about her marriage, Spears denied any problems. "[Kevin] helps me," Spears told Lauer. "He has to. I'm an emotional wreck right now." On November 7, Spears filed for divorce.

Before checking into Promises rehab center in Malibu for the second time, a  newly bald Spears (in a blonde wig) headed to the Mondrian hotel where she made two new gal pals at the poolside Star Bar.

Spears and her then assistant Shannon Funk stripped down to their skivvies and took a dip in the ocean in Malibu. "I used to walk around my house completely naked. And my dad would say, 'Britney, put some clothes on, we have people over,'" Spears told Esquire.

To get back in shape, Spears (in Malibu) has been hitting Bally Total Fitness in L.A. "She takes her workout seriously," says a gymgoer.

The singer showed off her bikini bod with sis Jamie-Lynn, 18, during an outing with sons, Sean, 4, and Jayden, 3, in Miami. "They both looked to be in pretty good shape," a witness to the family's outing at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel tells Us.

On a break from her Circus concert tour, Spears donned a black bikini and shades for a three-night getaway at the Tides Zihuatanejo resort in Mexico with agent beau, Jason Trawick, and her sons.

The singer, who wrapped her tour last month, shed a reported 20 pounds before hitting the road, thanks to two-hour cardio-and-strength training workouts three times a week (on top of dance rehearsals).

"Bought three new swimsuits today ? This one is my favorite!" she wrote, captioning a photo of herself in a cleavage-boosting, strappy lime suit.

Spears used her taut physique to make a sand angel while rocking a coral bikini.

The "Slumber Party" singer showed off her pert derriere while topless in a white bikini aboard a boat. "Still dreaming a mile a minute... ?," she captioned the Instagram snap.

The pop princess sizzled in a white woven Beach Bunny bikini while vacationing in Kaui, Hawaii.

Going bold with accessories, the "Toxic" singer paired a yellow ruffled bikini with a flat wide-brim hat, mirrored aviator shades and a silver bracelet when vacationing in Hawaii.

In a series of swimsuit shots, she shows off one sleek style in the form of a classic white two-piece, which she wore with a black necklace and pink shades.

The performer showed off her modeling skills laying alongside a jacuzzi in a bright yellow swimsuit as the sun set on mountain ranges behind her.

Pairing a teal two-piece with a cowboy hat, the pop star shared a video of herself enjoying the beach.

Laying in the sand, Spears rocked a yellow number with a tan fedora. "Such a great place," she captioned the pic.
