Honoring the best of the best in music, the 61st annual Grammy Awards began at 8:00 ET on CBS, and ahead of the show, the stars hit the red carpet giving it their fashion all.
The Grammys have been known to feature over-the-top dresses and styles (case in point: Nicki Minaj back in 2012 in a red cape and gloves on the arm of a man dressed as the pope and Lil’ Kim wearing sparkly tights over her bodysuit in 1998). And 2019’s style game did not disappoint.
There were tons of beautiful red carpet looks like Lady Gaga‘s custom silver Celine dress, Tracee Ellis Ross‘ green pantsuit and Alicia Keys‘ gorgeous plunging red Armani Prive dress with buttons down the front. And we also saw some pretty wacky looks from Cardi B‘s vintage Mulger look to Katy Perry‘s poofy pink Balmain dress.
Hosted by music icon Alicia Keys, the award show featured the best singers, performers and music producers in the world. Big pop performances included Shawn Mendes, Post Malone, Janelle Monáe, Miley Cyrus and Travis Scott while country band Little Big Town and Dolly Parton also took to the stage to represent.
But before all of the memorable speeches (à la Drake) and killer performances like the Havana opening, A-listers walked the red carpe to show off their sense of style — bold, clean and everything in between. We’re here to show you every female star’s look who stopped for the cameras. And with this year’s performances being especially female-empowered, they had some pretty great fashion moments.
