Never underestimate the power of a brow! Celebrity eyebrow artist Erin Bryant, who works with Kylie Jennner, Khloe Kardashian and Vanessa Hudgens, sat down with Stylish on Friday, October 20 in L.A. to talk everything from how to get the perfect brow shape, to how thicker brows can make you look younger, to which celebs have the best brows in the business — scroll through to find out her eyebrow secrets!
"I would say my secret to getting the perfect brow is by using my iBrow shaping technique that involves freehand drawing and matching client's features," Bryant reveals. "Everyone always asks me if I use a stencil, but I don't. I find stencils to be less effective when getting a full brow shape because most people's faces are not 100 percent symmetrical and stencils only offer specific guidelines," she says. "I don't base brow shapes off of a certain face shape, I do it based off of personal facial features. I don't just stare at Kylie, Khloe or Vanessa, I use their natural features and mark various areas on their face."
"I think Kylie Jenner, Jasmine Sanders and Jordyn Woods all have amazing brows," she reveals. "When I first did Kylie's brows, they weren't bad, but I couldn't wait to get my hands on them because they were a little too thinned out," Bryant admits. "Now that I have been working on rehabilitating her brows, I softened the shape up and it is much more complimentary to her face."
If your brows are too thin, Bryant recommends using natural minerals and vitamins that support rapid hair growth. In fact, she will be launching her own product soon, so keep an eye on her Instagram page and website to get your hands on it! Just be sure to keep your hands off the tweezers during the in-between phase. "It's worth the wait to let your brows grow out," she reveals. "Put the tweezers down, stay away from zoom mirrors and leave all the extra stray hairs even if you think your brow artist might not use them," she advises.
"I recommend using Brow Wiz by Anastasia a shade or two under your natural brow hair to complete your shape and clean your brows out," Bryant dishes. "I also love using e.l.f Cosmetics Clear Brow & Lash Mascara to keep brows in place. It has the best brow hold especially for unruly hairs that need to be tamed," she explains.
"I'm a '90s baby and thin brows were all the craze back then," she admits. "I think that stage is over and done with and I hope it never comes back! Full brows are in and people are really starting to understand how important they are and how much they can enhance your overall appearance," she reveals to Stylish.
