"Say goodbye to platforms and creepers!" says Jasmine Caccamo, who styles Rachel Platten. "Kitten heels [like these by Michael Kors] add a dainty touch of femininity to your boyfriend jeans and trousers."
Stylist Candice Lambert, who works with Kelly Clarkson, tells Us that this spring, "the stripes are bolder, brighter and playful — the best accent to any outfit." She adds, "From shoes to T-shirts to purses to dresses, stripes make any outfit instantly more stylish, flirty, and unique. Plus it’s a pattern that can go with anything."
"Embroidery is a fun trend to embrace this spring," Samantha Burkhart tells Us. The stylist, who works with Sia, suggests a custom Levi's jacket, Stella McCartney's floral embroidered bomber or even a "cheeky" MSGM embroidered top. "It instantly adds a touch of whimsy and vintage cool and looks great with anything denim," she says.
According to Hannah Davis' stylist Jeff K. Kim, "old school is the new school" when it comes to backpacks. And we're not talking Jansport! Pick up a leather bag with some fringe for festival season (like this Sole Society option).
Negar Ali Kline, who styles Jessica Lange and Maya Rudolph, says that "[the cropped flare] is everywhere for spring, from Madewell to Marc Jacobs." And the bonus? "It's a fresh new cut that really features your shoe." Just remember to style it with tailored pieces on top, he notes.
"Pair a camisole [like this one by Givenchy] with jeans, and it instantly gives a look some cool, girlie, retro flare, whether you're wearing sneakers or heels," says Penny Lovell, stylist to Anne Hathaway and Rose Byrne.
"What girl doesn’t like a little sparkle, shimmer and shine?" asks Lambert. "Pair a sequin top with your favorite pair of jeans for a little glitz. This trend is superb for adding a statement piece to your outfit for a night out with the girls. It's not over the top, and it keeps you looking effortlessly cool." (We love this Forever 21 top.)
