For some fresh bridal shower inspo, we’re taking cues from our favorite couple across the pond. Celebrity party planner Shawn Rabideau shares his tips, along with shower and wedding registry essentials from Crate and Barrel, for hosting a bridal bash that’s worthy of the crown.

DIY Mimosa Bar

These aren’t your ordinary mimosas! Contemporize this classic cocktail with an assortment of fresh pressed juices—something every Cali girl is sure to appreciate—along with fruit and herbal garnishes. Rabideau suggests setting up a DIY bar where guests can create their own concoctions. “It’s less work for the host and adds a fun, interactive element to your party. And an abundance of glamorous barware is always a good idea,” adds Rabideau. “I’m loving the Pryce Collection from Crate and Barrel—the Champagne Bucket and Coupe Glasses should be on every couple’s wedding registry!”

Oh-So-Civilized Party Food

When it comes to bridal shower bites, finger food is a guest’s best friend. In keeping with British teatime traditions, Rabideau combined savory tea sandwiches and tartines, in addition to mini scones with clotted cream and jam. When it comes to displaying food, he notes that the right serving trays and platters make all the difference. “Your tablescape should incorporate varying heights and textures. Displaying sandwiches on a three-tier glass server like this one from Crate and Barrel makes for a truly stunning presentation,” says Rabideau.

Desserts make for great eye candy and have the ability to elevate any event. When selecting your assortment, Rabideau recommends sticking to your color story. For example: macarons come in every shade of the rainbow and make for beautiful (and edible!) decorative accents. As for the cake, try incorporating a floral element from your table. It’ll keep everything cohesive while adding a "wow" factor.

Sweet Sendoff

“An edible party favor is one of the simplest ways to say ‘thanks for coming,’” says Rabideau. Heart-shaped jam biscuits are both sweet and chic when packaged as luxe little presents.

For an added pop, Rabideau filled celebratory British party crackers with assorted candies. “These sweet surprises are sure to make a lasting impression long after the bridal shower ends,” he adds.
