Cat lady on the loose!
Ariana Grande‘s super-sexy music video for “Love Me Harder” just hit the web. And while the vintage set and Grande’s cropped, sheer ensemble are both crush worthy, there’s one thing that we love above the rest: the cat ears she’s wearing throughout!
Grande, 21, flaunts her petite frame in a black bralette and semi-sheer lace skirt, finishing the come-hither look with her signature half-up hairdo. But at the center of the insanely flirty video, arguably her sexiest clip to date, are two pointed lace ears sticking out from the top of her auburn tresses.
It’s not the first time we’ve seen the former Nickelodeon starlet sport animal ears! She wore a kitten-eared headband to the 2014 iHeartRadio Music Festival in September, and, as can be seen on her Instagram page, she’s incorporated the ears into her street style, too. Then at the 2014 Radio Disney Music Awards in April. Grande repped the House of Mouse by wearing Mickey Mouse ears to perform.
Cat ears are just the latest way Grande’s been experimenting with her hair, which she’s been leaving down more and more as it heals from years of dying her natural brown hair bright red to play Cat Valentine on Victorious. “As annoying as it is for y’all to have to look at the same hair style all the time, it’s all that works for now,” the “Break Free” singer shared with her Facebook fans in January. “And trust me, it’s even more difficult for me to have to wait forever for my natural hair to grow back and to have to wear more fake hair than every drag queen on earth combined.”
Hair evolution aside, she’s not the only pop princess who loves herself a pair of music video kitty ears. Taylor Swift wore a bedazzled pair of wire cat ears on the set of her music video for the 2013 hit, “22.” (Fans loved them so much, the “Welcome to new York” songstress, 24, now sells an identical pair on TaylorSwift.com.)
Meanwhile, Katy Perry and Nicole Richie have both worn the adorable accessory out and about. Perry, 30, fittingly worked rose-embellished ears to a signing for her Purry by Katy Perry fragrance in 2011. On the other hand, Richie, 33, celebrated Who What Wear and Cadillac’s 50 Most Fashionable Women 2013 in a lace cap with structured ears.
