Who needs a glam squad? Not the Duggar girls!
Jessa Duggar may have gone non-traditional with a blush-hued wedding dress, but her hairstyle was a signature Duggar look. For her November wedding to Ben Seewald (which was showcased during the March 31 special episode, 19 Kids and Counting: Jessa’s Wedding), the TLC reality star, 22, wore her long brunette hair down in loose waves, a look that she’s perfected with the help of a few key (and affordable!) beauty products.
In a special video tutorial for fan site, DuggarFamilyBlog.com, Jessa breaks down her go-to hairstyle, including all of the stylers she needs including Suave Dry Shampoo (“Because it’s not as wet as other dry shampoos,” her sister Jill, 23, explains) and Aussie Instant Freeze Spray.
“My hair is naturally curly so mine has a lot of body to it,” Jessa says. To help the curls maintain their shape after using an iron or wand, Jessa applies Paul Mitchell Round Trip Liquid Curl Definer before styling.
To create the classic style, Jessa begins with a 2-inch section of hair around the face. “Use the [1-inch curling iron by Conair] as a wand,” she explains. “Feel the temperature [while holding the hair] until it gets warm to the touch.”
To help give each curl lasting-power, Jessa advises to take matters into your own hands – literally. “If you scrunch it a little bit, then it will loosen up, and then you can use just a little bit of hair spray,” she said, gathering the curl in her hands and letting it fall.
