A long day of traveling usually takes its toll on skin, leaving behind a dry, dull complexion. So how in the world did Kate Hudson look so luminous after an entire day of travel at the Kung Fu Panda 3 movie premiere in Shanghai on Monday, January 18?
"We traveled for 24 hours and had the premiere the same day, so I wanted to make sure her skin was well-hydrated and glowing," Hudson's celebrity makeup artist, Mélanie Inglessis, tells Us Weekly.
Inglessis tells Us she used a total of four revitalizing products to jump-start the Rock the Kasbah actress' radiance.
Inglessis, who has worked with Amber Heard and Olivia Wilde, used WEI's Chinese Rose Foaming Cleanser ($38, weibeauty.com) to gently wash Hudson's face. "[It left] her skin dewy and refreshed," she says.
Next, she doubled up on masks, applying one of the mom of two's favorite's, WEI's Dragon's Blood Instant Lift Eye Mask (six for $60 at beauty.com) on the eyes, and their Rice Sprout Express Glow Illuminating Mask ($60, sephora.com) on the cheeks and chin for 15 minutes.
To finish off Hudson's hydration transformation, Inglessis patted on WEI's Lotus Blossom Thirst Relief Milky Essence ($58, weibeauty.com). "It smoothed [the skin] to prep for a flawless makeup application," she says.
To achieve the "fresh, natural look [that channeled] Spring," Inglessis started with Chantecaille tinted moisturizer and brushed on an anti-fatigue corrector pen also by Chantecaille to brighten and blur imperfections.
A flush of color was added to Hudson's cheekbones, thanks to Chantecaille Cheek Gelee in Happy, followed by Chantecaille's Liquid Lumiere in Sheen to highlight her brow bones and the apples of her cheeks. A smoky eye, mascara and a peachy-nude lip completed Hudson's premiere look.
