Oscar winner Cate Blanchett has adopted a baby girl, her rep confirms to Us Weekly

UPDATE: A rep for the couple tells Us the little one has been named Edith Vivian Patricia Upton.

She's a mum — again! Oscar winner Cate Blanchett has adopted a baby girl with her husband Andrew Upton, her rep confirms to Us Weekly.

"The Upton family (Cate Blanchett and Andrew Upton) have adopted a baby girl," the rep told Us in a statement.

Blanchett, 45, and playwright-director Upton, 49, wed in December 1997. The couple are already parents to three sons: Dashiell, 13, Roman, 10, and Ignatius, 6.

The Blue Jasmine star opened up about balancing work and motherhood with Times Online back in March 2010. "All I can think about is what I've gained," she said at the time. "I've had to say no to things because I was pregnant, but then I had a baby, so it didn't seem like a sacrifice. I'm quite fatalistic — if something doesn't happen, then something else will."

She added: "It has to work for my family, otherwise I can't do the job."
