Halle Berry Talks About Her Miracle Son Maceo, "Geriatric Pregnancy" at 46 While "Premenopausal"
Halle's little miracle! Halle Berry feels more than just blessed by 7-month-old son Maceo's existance, she thinks he's the result of daughter Nahla's prayers.
At 46 years old, the X-Men: Days Of Future Past actress was sure she'd never be a mom again. But daughter Nahla, 6, prayed for a sibling, and after a year and a half of prayers, her wishes came true.
Berry opened up about her shock and delight at becoming a mother again on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Monday, May 19.
"Only her prayers could have done this," the actress, who was 47 when Maceo was born, told Ellen DeGeneres. "I didn’t think it was possible at my age, honestly. They call it a geriatric pregnancy."
"I was, you know, on my way," she shared. "This is probably way TMI, but I was kinda premenopausal, so to have this happen was huge."
Berry, who married baby Maceo's father Olivier Martinez during a private ceremony in July 2013, says daughter Nahla loves to dress her little brother.
But despite having willing little helpers this time around, one part of motherhood is much more painful than before.
"There’s a difference between boys and girls," Berry said laughing. "When I would put Nahla on the boob she would go [light sucking] a nice little girly suck. With him, he’s like sucking the life out of me!"
