Baby No. 2 at last! Shayne Lamas and her husband Nik Richie are expecting their second child via a surrogate, Richie tells Us Weekly.
"Shayne is not pregnant [but] thanks to Dr. Smotrich [of La Jolla IVF Clinic], he was able to stimulate her ovaries to produce eggs which he converted to embryos," Richie tells Us of the exciting news. "Someone else is carrying our child. We are truly excited to expand our family."
The news comes after Lamas was hospitalized and miscarried what would have been the couple's second child during a medical emergency in February.
The VH1 Couples Therapy stars, already parents to a 2-year-old daughter named Press, told Us at the time that then-pregnant Lamas had collapsed and was rushed to the hospital to undergo a "life-saving emergency surgery."
Following the health scare, Lorenzo Lamas' daughter told Us in a statement, "Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers. I've cried reading the expression of generosity and warmth from everyone. I'm out of ICU at Mission Viejo Hospital. I cannot thank the medical staff here enough for not giving up on me."
