Another royal baby! Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia of Sweden’s royal family have welcomed a baby boy, the palace confirmed.
“On Tuesday April 19 at 6.25 p.m., Princess Sofia gave birth to a son at Danderyd Hospital in Stockholm,” Sweden’s Royal Palace wrote in a statement. “Both mother and child are in good health. Prince Carl Philip was present at the hospital throughout the birth.”
The prince weighed about 7.9 pounds and measured around 19.3 inches long. The baby’s name is still being kept under wraps.
The new baby is fifth in line to the royal throne after his aunt Crown Princess Victoria, cousins Prince Oscar and Princess Estelle and dad Prince Carl Philip.
Carl Philip, 36, married former model Sofia, 31, in Stockholm in June 2015.
In October, the couple announced on Facebook that they were expecting a little bundle of joy. “We are so happy and excited to announce that we are expecting our first child. We are very much looking forward to it,” they wrote.
