Single mom of four, Kimberly Henderson, whose video of her singing Sam Smith's arrangement of Whitney Houston's "How Will I Know" went viral in Decemeber, has got the Internet in a spin once again by posting a brave photograph of her saggy and stretch-marked belly to show people what a woman's body really looks like after birthing four children.
The musician from South Carolina, who received tens of millions of views when she shared her first musical foray despite having been rejected multiple times by American Idol, decided to post the photograph of her bare, un-edited midriff in a response to fans' assertions that she had the "perfect" body, despite having carried four children.
"Everyone always compliments me on how I have such a 'perfect' body after 4 kids," the Internet sensation captioned the snap, which shows her holding up her pink t-shirt to reveal her post-baby tum. "I decided to upload this pic and leave my belly 'unedited' 'unphotoshopped' because I used to struggle with accepting my body after kids," she said.
"I used to have a six pack before my babies. And now even though I work out I know its not going to make my loose skin tight.. Or my stretch marks disappear ever lol and I'm ok with that because everyday I get to wake up to 4 beautiful smiling faces and I'm reminded that they are worth this flabby belly and they are worth these stretch marks," she said.
Showing off real post-baby bodies has become a bit of a trend in recent weeks. New mom Hilaria Baldwin has taken to documenting her baby-free bump as the days and weeks pass following the birth of her son Rafael (with husband Alec Baldwin).
And like Hilaria, Henderson isn't about to cover up just because her body looks different to some expectations. "I still wear a bikini because being a mother makes me feel beautiful," she adds in her caption. "It took a long time to get there.. I struggled so much because I was young and all these girls my age had perfect bodies and I was in my one piece bathing suit trying to hide all my flaws. And I'm not trying to say I have it worse than anyone else or bad or anything like that just reminding you guys.. That your body is beautiful... BECAUSE we ARE moms and we ARE superheroes and we freakin ROCK and in my opinion that is sexier than any 6 pack!"
