Adele: "I Don't Want to Be Some Skinny Mini With My Tits Out"

With a voice as powerful and soulful as Adele's, she doesn't need the bells and whistles her peers rely so heavily upon.

"I've never seen magazine covers or music videos and been like 'I need to look like that to be a success,'" Adele, 23, tells Anderson Cooper on 60 Minutes (airing Sunday). "I don't want to be some skinny mini with my tits out. I really don't want to do it and I don't want people confusing what it is that I'm about."

The chart-topping "Rolling in the Deep" singer adds that she's not interested in being provocative for the sake of being provocative. "I just stand there and sing," she tells Cooper, 44. "I don't do stunts or anything."

Adele says her mission is simple: "I'm just writing love songs. I'm not trying to be pop. I'm not trying to be jazz. I'm not trying to be anything. I'm just writing love songs and everyone loves a love song."

After undergoing throat surgery in November 2011, Adele will return to the stage for the first time at Sunday's Grammy Awards. Her full 60 Minutes interview premieres Sunday at 7 p.m. EST on CBS.

She is BEAUTIFUL just the way she is. She is not fat. She is voluptuous. There is a huge difference. Shame on you Karl for calling her fat. If I remember correctly, you were seriously fat once upon a time in your life.

Good for her! Too many of these singers are more about crazy dance moves and who has the most wild music video that they often lose track of what it's all about, the MUSIC! I cannot tell you how many Madonna VIDEOS I loved but hated the song, the same goes for Katy Perry, Kanye West and the list goes on.. but NOT Adele! Her videos are simple, sweet and profoundly effective emotionally, with music like hers there is no reason to have anything, dancing, etc.. distract from the song. She is beautiful, how she dresses, her hair style is all up to her, as it should be, if that is her style personally then it should be her style professionally as well, she is 100% genuine, real and unique and she is the one true diva of our present time. RIP Whitney Houston, you will be missed!

I don't think she qualifies at fat. Is she thin? No, but that voice couldn't come out a skinny mini ;) But being not thin doesn't make you fat. And too, it is more important that you eat healthy and are active.

Its her music I care about. I am reasonably sure I will never meet her as a person, and she is to young to date. The music is what ties us together. I am moved by her music from the first chord. What size jeans she buys is of no consequence.

Sometimes you have to tell it the way it is. Adele doesn't have to be skinny or prove anything to anybody. At the end of the day, if she is comfortable with herself, that is all that matters.

To be honest she is NOT that big. Im bigger than her lol. She is not obese, she seems healthy. I would guess shes about 150? Yes in model world thats huge but in reality, thats still on the healthy side.
