No floral dress this year! While music-world royalty rocked the red carpet and took to the stage at the 2014 Grammy Awards, one of the biggest powerhouses of them all decided to watch the Staples Center event from the comfort of her own home. Missed by fans, Adele tweeted a "thank you" from her bed after winning her tenth Grammy!
"Wish I was there! Thank you for the grammy! (My 10th one! Whhaaa?)," the 25-year-old wrote on Sunday, Jan. 26. "Have a wonderful night. I'm in bed, now feeling very restless x" The British singer — whose home base is in the Seaside town of Brighton, England with longtime love Simon Konecki and son Angelo, 15 months — won in the Best Song Written For Visual Media category for her hit "Skyfall."
Last year, the beloved songstress took home her ninth win for Best Pop Solo Performance for "Set Fire to the Rain (Live)." "Thank you so much. This is amazing," she said in her acceptance speech. "I just wanted to come and be part of the night because I loved it last year, obviously."
Adele may have sat this one out, but there wasn't any drama this time around, either. Back in 2013, the star made headlines when it appeared she got into an argument with controversial singer Chris Brown in the audience. At the time, it seemed as though Brown, 24, didn't stand up during rival Frank Ocean's win for Best Contemporary Album like the rest of the crowd.
"Chris Brown and I were complimenting each other in that photo actually," Adele later cleared up via Twitter.
