Always make time for puppies! Despite her busy schedule training for the upcoming 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janiero, Brazil, gymnast Alexandra Raisman has found time to adopt a new puppy.

While at an NBC Olympic promo shoots last month in West Hollywood, Raisman, 21, fell in love with a maltipoo who was up for adoption at the shoot. The pup was on assignment at the event, posing for photos with the Olympians — because who can resist an Olympian and a puppy?

“I knew from the moment I saw Gibson that it was meant to be,” the three-time medalist gushed exclusively to Us. “My dog Coco recently passed away and my family has been so devastated. Gibson’s personality reminded my mom and I so much of Coco. Of course from the second we saw him we asked about adopting Gibson.”

It looks like Gibson (his given name, Raisman did not re-name him) is taking to the former Dancing With the Stars Season 16 contestant just as much as she is to him — but he is having one challenge with his new home.

“Gibson is the happiest dog I’ve ever seen, except when he goes outside,” she admits. “Gibson is not use to the freezing Boston weather. He was a little confused the first few times we brought him outside because he is from L.A.!”
