“We gave them a list of people and they were like, ‘The more the merrier,’” she told Us. “It is stress free. It was nice I didn’t have to give out invitations or any of that. They did all that.” They also did all the food. “They went over and beyond,” she gushed. Before the bash, Amy and Dillon even took to Instagram to invite fans to stop by for cake!

The future spouses first started dating in November 2014 and announced their engagement last month. Amy is over the moon about Dillon, but admits that it wasn’t love at first sight.

“When I first met him, he insulted me. It was when ruffles were really in style and he’s like, ‘What the heck are you wearing?’ So we just started laughing that night and hanging out. I was like, ‘Well, if he’s going to be that honest I might as well keep him around,’” she told Us. “I had no intention of ever dating him. I never thought he was attractive. Never flirted with him. Never kissed him. Nothing! Until one night all of our friends went camping and I kind of looked at him different.”

She continued: “He’s been my best friend for seven years…He makes me laugh more than any person on the planet.”

Amy is looking forward to walking down the aisle, and has even Facetimed cousin Jill Duggar for advice. (Jill and her husband, Derick Dillard, are currently out of the country on a mission trip with their 4-month-old son, Israel.) The bride-to-be originally wanted a courthouse wedding, but Jim Bob talked her out of it.

“Uncle Jim Bob is more traditional than I am and he was just like, ‘Now, Amy, a wedding is all about family and friends and coming together,” she recalled, adding: “I’m an only child so my mom [Deanna] was like, ’You have to have a wedding, I have to cry at your wedding. It’s a thing!’”
