Former Fleetwood Mac member Bob Welch has died. He was 65.

The Associated Press reports the musician was found dead by his wife, Wendy Armistead Welch, of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in their Nashville home on Thursday.

Don Aaron, Nashville Police spokesman, said, "All indications are that it was a suicide." He also said Welch had been suffering from health issues recently and a suicide note was found.

Welch was a guitarist and vocalist for Fleetwood Mac from 1971 to 1974. He released his first solo album, French Kiss, in September 1977, which included his hit "Ebony Eyes," "Sentimental Lady."
