You do you, girl! Bobby Flay’s ex-wife, actress Stephanie March, is living her life after her divorce from the celebrity chef.

In a recent interview with The New Potato, March, 41, revealed that she got one very important piece of advice this year — perhaps alluding to her April split from Flay, 50.

“‘Now is not the time to stop being the person you always have been,’” she recalled the poignant words. “‘People show up for you because of who you are, not what you can do for them.’ And she was right. I am utterly blessed with good friends and family.”

The actress also noted that “it’s been quite a year,” and that she plans on “hugging everyone I love 1,000 times over” this holiday season. “Life is short,” she added.

Flay filed for divorce from the Law & Order: SVU actress in April, claiming in legal documents that their 10-year marriage had “broken down irretrievably.”

The pair finalized their divorce on Friday, July 17, and told Us Weekly that they had “come to an amicable divorce settlement.” (March’s lawyers had been contesting the couple’s prenup, which stated that Flay would pay his ex $5,000 a month.)

Earlier in the year, the couple’s relationship made headlines when Page Six reported that Flay was having an affair with his assistant, Elyse Tirrell, 28, and that the affair was the main reason for the couple’s split.

Flay’s rep shot down the claims, saying that the accusations were “continued efforts by certain parties to spread rumors and innuendo.”

In June, as Flay was being honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, a plane pulling a banner with the word “Cheater” emblazoned on it flew by overhead.

Though many speculated that March was behind the stunt, the actress’ lawyer denied any involvement.

“Stephanie is absolutely not behind [this],” her attorney, Deborah Lans, told Us Weekly in a statement.
