Bristol Palin is reliving her engagement just two days after her Marine boyfriend, Sgt. Dakota Meyer, popped the question backstage at the Rascal Flatts concert on Friday, March 13. Sarah Palin’s daughter took to her website and Instagram to reveal the country crooners dedicated “Bless the Broken Road” to them prior to her new fiancé getting down on one knee.
"He's so romantic! He asked me to marry him at a Rascal Flatts concert," Palin wrote on her site. "The lead singer, Gary LeVox, dedicated 'Bless the Broken Road' to us, and then Dakota got down on one knee and proposed!”
“So thankful to have this on video @brady_melin,” she added on Instagram, sharing a video of Meyer on stage with the band, who inform the crowd that “she said yes!”
The 24-year-old broke the news of her engagement on Instagram on Friday, captioning a kiss snap: “Truly the luckiest girl in the world, cannot wait to marry this man!!!!”
The bride-to-be’s mom, Sarah, is equally as ecstatic for her daughter.
"Our families couldn't be happier for Bristol and Dakota! We’re honored to welcome Dakota into our family. He’s an American hero and patriot whose service to our country – like all his fellow Medal of Honor recipients – has been above and beyond the call of duty; but even more important is he’s a good and kind man who loves Bristol and Tripp, and is loved by them," she told Us in a statement.
