Danielle Fishel grew up before fans’ eyes playing Cory Matthews’ true love, Topanga, on the classic ABC sitcom Boy Meets World. Now the actress, 32, is preparing for her own wedding, which is set to take place right before she starts filming spin-off show Girl Meets World.
Us Weekly caught up with the April 2013 Maxim cover girl at Tacori’s Annual Club Tacori Event in West Hollywood on Oct. 8 where she dished on her upcoming nuptials.
“Midnight blue is my main color. The color I’m wearing, basically,” she told Us. “I think it’s perfect for a this-time-of-year wedding. Kind of big, like 250 people. It’s going to be really fun! I’m really excited about it.”
After the big day, Fishel and her fiancé, Tim Belusko, will take a short honeymoon in Maui before she returns to reprise her role as Topanga Matthews — this time as a wife and mother — on Girl Meets World.
“We start filming in November,” she revealed. “Ben [Savage] and I take the kids out for dinner occasionally. We’ve tried to bond, and I think we’re already a real-life family so it’s going to be nice.”
And though she’s engaged to another man, she told Us that Ben Savage, 33, “will always be my first husband. Any time I’m around Ben, I feel like I’m at my most comfortable because we’ve been together for 20 years, so it’s been nice to be back together.”
Apparently, Belusko’s a real trooper when it comes to his future bride’s relationship with her lifelong co-star.
“He totally accepts that,” she said. “I mean, he knows that Ben and I have been together for a long time as an on-screen couple and to a certain extent when you’ve been with someone for 20 years like that it’s impossible to have none of that rub off a little bit in person.”
Girl Meets World will film this winter and air in 2014 on The Disney Channel.
