It's really over for Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher.

"It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I have decided to end my six-year marriage to Ashton," a rep for Moore, 49, tells Us Weekly in a statement Thursday.

"As a woman, a mother and a wife there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life," Moore's statement continues.

Kutcher, 33, infamously had a one-night stand with San Diego party girl Sara Leal, 22, in the wee hours of Sept. 24 of this year -- Kutcher and Moore's sixth wedding anniversary.

Margin Call actress Moore adds in her statement: "This is a trying time for me and my family, and so I would ask for the same compassion and privacy that you would give to anyone going through a similar situation."

It was the first marriage for Two and a Half Men star Kutcher, and the third for Moore, who divorced singer Freddy Moore in the mid-1980s, and fellow actor Bruce Willis in 2000. Married for 13 years, she and Willis, 56, share three daughters: Rumer, 23, Scout, 20, and Tallulah, 17.

Just last weekend, Willis hosted the embattled couple at his vacation home in Turks and Caicos, where Moore and Kutcher gave one last shot at repairing their union.  "They had to get away," a source told Us. "Things have been very strained."

But Moore's Thursday statement confirms she finally made up her mind. Just a few weeks ago, pals told Us that the star, though reeling from the split (and showing off an increasingly frail frame) wasn't ready to let go. "She's totally humiliated and angry, but she doesn't want him to leave her," a pal told Us in late October.

age isn't the problem, i am 12 years older than my husband and been together for over 23 years.....their issue is infidelity pure moral issue of a man not growing up...and a woman smart enough to know nothing she does is going to change his behavior, has nothing to do with physical age, but psychological age.

Why do women blame other women when a man cheats?

Demi should know from the start that their age difference will be a big problem one day. But I do not know what's in her mind and decided to marry Ashton who is almost like her kid. SIX years is already too long for them and think that they both been happy during those times. Demi's been divorced 2 or 3 times.. Bruce Willis divorced her even if she was still young and have 3 children from him. Of course, we know that Bruce is a womanizer and a cheater too. Ashton is still young and has lots of dreams and I am sure that one of his dreams is to have children of his own and I do not think that he could realized that with Demi. Women are a lot different from men. She has already 3 kids so give Ashton a chance.

I am more bothered by the fact that the little witch that started this whole thing is so un accountable for her whole part in all of this. I know that they have their own issues and that they have to work out their own stuff regardless but the part about this woman just reeking havoc on a couples marriage and not really being held responsible in any way just sux. It seems like she got the attention that she wanted out of the deal and then it didnt matter that she had done this at all. I dont get how people think anymore. She obviously held a big part in what took place between them. It just makes me sick that people are that desperate for attention in Hollywood. These women will go to any length to get a few minutes in the spotlight and make a few lousy dollars and to destroy someones marriage altogether, for what really?? I know that they have their open blah blah blah and their age difference and I get all of that but their was still and act that was done here by another woman who obviously wanted much more out of it than to just sleep with someone elses husband. She could of had her minute with Ashton and kept her mouth shut but that wasnt the intention that she had from the beggining. Does anyone see what point I am making here. She did this with every intention of gaining attention and money at the expense of their marriage. People like that should not be allowed to profit monetarily or get any public attention without some sort of recourse by the person who is afflicted by their actions. Demi for example. All men like their egos stroked and that is one thing but for this sleeze bag to profit and then destroy at the same time just really irritates the crap out of me! Hopefully one day their will be a law set against this kind of sh&* so that women like her cannot continue to pull crap like this. She should have to be held accountable somewhere, why should she just walk away from the whole incident scott free, while everyone elses lives are totally turned upside down. Obviously Ashton and Demi have to pay the price of what has happened............where is her payment??????????????/ That is why I have to believe in KARMA************************************************

Well we can't just blame her or him... I agree with George

I'm very sorry about the whole deal and I know that Moore must be heart broken. A co-worker used to say "A hard d*k has no conscience".

c'mon ppl,are you REALLY surprised at this?? who cares anyway? I did find it quite interesting tho that he cheated on her on their WEDDING ANNIVERSARY! damn...talk about being humiliated!

  • November 18, 2011 - 1:41pm George Moore

In the first place, it wasn't love. It was "INFATUATION" on both sides. Just as most celebrity marriages are. Too much "GLITTER". Glitter fades ..., away.

@ Genia..you tell them...i was routing for them but the age difference was too much..she has kids, he would of wanted some, she sowed her wild oats, he still had to sow his..they have both learned during this relationship and it is for the best

All these people who think they know WHO is the right person for someone else to marry - as if you all know Demi and Ashton personally or something. It took me forever to find the right person for ME to marry. I would never ASSume I know who is right for someone else.

  • November 18, 2011 - 11:47am Pamela Lewis

Tellem Genia!!! I am with her all the way!

  • November 18, 2011 - 11:40am Genia Kleinheksel Stevens

Their marriage didn't work because Ashton cheated on Demi. Period. Arnold and Maria schwarzenegger's marriage didn't work because he was screwing around. John and Elizabeth Edward's marriage didn't work because he was screwing around. Tiger Woods's marriage didn't work because he was screwing around with a whole lotta women. LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian were both married when they started their relationship. Jesse James cheated on Sandra Bullock. David Letterman cheated on his wife with female staffers. Jude Law cheated on his wife with the nanny. Mel Gibson cheated on his wife with Oksana Grigorieva. And President Clinton, well, we all know what happened there. Demi Moore's age doesn't have a thing to do with her marriage ending. So let that go.

Marriage is hard, and it had to be even more difficult, when your husband is almost the same age as your daughters. And not to mention they both are famous, so that did not help. Demi is beautiful and I am sure she will be fine.

He looks so scruffy and greasy lately, with the awful hair. No matter what, breaking up process is like you are in mourning. It is a part of you that iws gone forever. But if you start becoming ill over someone, it is time to move on with life.
