That’s good karma! Ellen DeGeneres rewarded a Boy Scout who returned Chris Hemsworth’s lost wallet with a $10,000 check for his kind act.
When the Huntsman: Winter’s War actor left his wallet at a restaurant in a “rough” area near the airport, he thought he was never getting it back — but 17-year-old Tristin Budzyn-Barker found it abandoned on a table and mailed it back to him with everything inside!
The two finally met on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, which aired Monday, April 18. The good Samaritan was pretty thrilled when he discovered he had found a celebrity’s wallet. “When I found out it was yours, I looked up at my mom and said ‘Mom! Do you know who this is? We found Thor’s wallet!’” he said.
The young scout found that kindness really does pay off when Hemsworth, 32, handed him a stack of bills. “I expected it was going to be empty, but all the cash was in there so I want to give the cash as a gift.” the dad of three told the boy scout. “There’s a little extra in there.”
“Well it’s empty now!” Budzyn-Barker joked with a huge smile on his face.
Not only did the teen receive a sizable reward from the Thor actor, but Hemsworth also wrote him a thank you letter to help him earn the rank of Eagle Scout that he’s been working towards.
Taking the generosity a step further, DeGeneres and Shutterfly gifted Budzyn-Barker with $10,000 for his college education after finding out he had sold some of his horses to pay for his tuition.
The teen was overjoyed by the gift and the chance to meet Hemsworth — and his parents, who were watching in the audience, even shed a few tears.
