Farrah Abraham Wants to Use ‘16 and Pregnant’ to Teach Daughter About Sex

Mama knows best. Farrah Abraham told Us Weekly at an event on Friday, September 30, that she wants to use old episodes of 16 and Pregnant to educate her daughter about sex when she grows up.

“I mean, that’s something that’s so normal to me,” the 25-year-old reality star told Us at Johnny Donovan’s 30th birthday bash at XL Nightclub of bringing up the topic of sex with Sofia, now 7. “I public-speak with teenagers and get to do fun things and awareness campaign. I think that’s really gotten me ready as a public speaker and gotten me ready to talk to my daughter more so than anything.”

“I can always play those 16 and Pregnant episodes and all these things back, that’s just, like, the help and I wouldn’t take that for granted,” she continued. “I would use it as a big tool.”

Abraham, who has frequently defended her parenting tactics in the past, added that she wants to cater that talk to where and who her daughter is at that point in time.

“I have to just see whatever her situation is, but I handle things and I communicate,” the Teen Mom OG star told Us. “I’m educated and I can talk through my frustrations or my emotions. … I wouldn’t want to create more of a stress, but I would always want to set her up for success.”

The proud mom added that she hopes her daughter is getting the most out of growing up in the spotlight.

“I’m trying to have her utilize all the wonderful things that we’ve been given from being on TV in a positive way from financial things to setting her up,” Abraham said. “But we’ll see where she is when she’s a teen, but I think she’ll be more progressed as a teenager than I was.”

In August, Abraham opened up to Us about Sofia’s already-burgeoning career as a model and a businesswoman, noting that she’s always going to be looking out for her daughter to make sure she doesn’t get hurt by the entertainment industry’s potential pitfalls.

“I have gone through a bunch of stuff, and I just believe in taking it slow,” Abraham told Us at the time. “There is really no rush. And if we find the right people, that is great. If Sophia has awesome opportunities that come to her, which we do, it is really just about picking and choosing what we want and what we want to make time for.”
