Gallagher is almost ready to make 'em laugh again!

The 65-year-old has been taken out of his medically-induced coma following a serious heart attack last Wednesday, his manager Christina Scherrer confirmed to E! News.

The watermelon-smashing comic is now breathing on his own and even cracking jokes, Scherrer added.

"We're not sure how long the doctors will want him to stay yet," Scherrer said of Gallagher, who's recouping in a Texas hospital. "So far so good, can't wait to have him back!"

The star, who suffered a heart attack this time last year during a show in Minnesota, complained of chest pains last Wednesday just before he was scheduled to go onstage for fans in Lewisville, Tex.
