Cloudy with a chance of … a mirrorball! Good Morning America meteorologist Ginger Zee has signed on for season 22 of Dancing With the Stars, a source confirms to Us Weekly. She will be paired with season 20 champ Val Chmerkovskiy.
Zee and husband Ben Aaron welcomed a son, Adrian, in late December, and Zee has been on maternity leave ever since. She returns to Good Morning America on Monday, March 7, just in time for the morning show to make the official announcement of the full DWTS cast on Tuesday, March 8.
Other confirmed cast members for the upcoming season include Fuller House’s Jodie Sweetin, paired with Keo Motsepe, as well as The O.C. alum Mischa Barton, America’s Next Top Model cycle 22 winner Nyle DiMarco and The Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Kim Fields.
The dance competition will have some big shake-ups this season — pro Derek Hough is skipping season 22 to take on a Broadway role in Singin’ in the Rain. His sister Julianne Hough will also not return after two seasons on the judging panel and will be replaced by veteran judge Len Goodman, who took last season off.
Dancing With the Stars returns to ABC on Monday, March 21, at 8 p.m. EST.
