Homeland’s James Rebhorn Dies at Age 65

Actor James Rebhorn died at age 65 on Friday, March 21.

Sad news for Homeland fans. Actor James Rebhorn, who played Frank Mathison — the father of intelligence officer Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes), died at age 65, his agent Dianne Busch confirmed to Us Weekly. Rebhorn passed from a struggle with melanoma. He is survived by his wife Becky and his two daughters Hannah and Emma.

The character actor had a recurring role as Reese Hughes on USA's White Collar and was the judge who sent Jerry, Elaine, George, and Kramer to jail in the series finale of Seinfeld in 1998.

Starting off his career in the '50s, Rebhorn had roles on top TV shows like Third Watch, The Book of Daniel, Law & Order, Boston Legal, 30 Rock, The Good Wife, and Enlightened

He also had standout roles in films such as 1992's My Cousin Vinny and Scent of a Woman
