The Iggy Azalea/Azealia Banks war continues to rage

Iggy Azalea's got some high-profile support in her ongoing feud with Azealia Banks, and on Monday, Dec. 22 she took to twitter to thank will.i.am and Lupe Fiasco for their backup.

Azalea and Banks have been locked in a renewed bitter battle since the start of the month, when the "212" hitmaker sounded off about Azalea's lack of support for black issues during an interview with New York's Hot 97.

Australian artist Azalea has been firing back at Banks, calling her a bully for her subsequent social media rants. And after anonymous hacking threats were issued on Sunday, Dec. 21, warning Azalea that still photographs of her in an alleged sex tape would be published if she didn't apologize to Banks, some other hip-hop stars weighed in on the battle.

Will.i.am jumped to the blonde artist's defense, writing, "@IGGYAZALEA hiphop Is global now…it doesn’t matter if your white or black…thanks for contributing & spreading our culture positively. It saddens me that people are making a big deal about race in hiphop & not ethics…today’s ethics goes against our foundation.”

"In 1980 a white girl from punk rock group @blondieOFFICIAL helped #hiphop expand beyond the hood with a song called #rapture," he continued. "at the end of the day who cares what people think…do what you love…stay #fancy…#congrats."

Lupe Fiasco got into a conversation with a Twitter follower and was also drawn on his opinion regarding Azalea. "Iggy has a place in HipHop…her place…. @MsGina_Kool," he wrote.

Their support came hot on the heels of veteran MC Q-Tip and Azalea's mentor T.I.'s long-winded Twitter missives on the history of hip-hop and the culture around it.

"Thanks lupe and will iam what you guys said was really nice and i appreciate it,” the "Booty" hitmaker said in a shout-out to her famous supporters, before attempting the final festive word on the subject.

"Most people learn every and anything they can about the subjects they are passionate about, I'm no different," she wrote. "I find it patronizing to assume i have no knowledge of something I'm influenced by, but I've also grown up with strangers assuming that. So its completely fine and I'm used to it by now. im also not going to sit on twitter & play hip hop squares with strangers to somehow prove i deserve to be a fan of or influenced by hiphop!"

"Now, if you guys don't mind… I'm on my christmas break enjoying it with people i actually KNOW…. in REAL life," the hip hop artist added. "You should do the same."

Of course, Banks couldn't let Azalea have the last word.

"Qtip gave you some insight into the culture you're influenced by and you really sat there and told him he's hip-hop squares," the rapper blasted in the early hours of Tuesday, Dec. 23. "How the f–k can you address a rap legend like @QtipTheAbstract and refer to "hip-hop" squares in the same breath??!?!?!!?!?!?!"

Let's see if Azalea can keep her festive promise and step away from Twitter for Christmas!
