So … don’t even think about it! Iggy Azalea directly addressed her fiancé Nick Young‘s high-profile cheating scandal in an interview this past weekend, and threatened to take drastic measures against the NBA player if he was unfaithful to her.
The host of Wild 94.1’s Orlando & The Freakshow explained to Azalea that there are two different kinds of basketball wives: those who spy on their superstar athlete husbands and those who are fine with their significant others sleeping with other women. Azalea quickly placed herself in the former category.
“No, I’m not cool with it,” Azalea, 25, told the show. “Like, you’ll have half a penis.”
Azalea discovered Young’s cheating scandal after a video leaked several weeks ago of Los Angeles Lakers rookie D’Angelo Russell having a private conversation with “Swaggy P” Young. In the clip, 30-year-old Young admitted to allegedly cheating with several women, including a 19-year-old. After learning about the video, an infuriated Azalea quickly took to Twitter to react to the scandal, telling Russell that she “liked’ the clip.
“I already said, ‘One more video, just one more thing and you will lose a quarter of your meat,'” Azalea told Wild 94.1 on Friday. How the video was leaked remains unknown, but Azalea acknowledged that she didn’t even know if it was true that Young had cheated. “Well, that’s why he got to slide this time,” she said. “I was like, ‘Just let me get some real evidence, and you’re gonna lose half an inch.'”
The “Fancy” rapper also addressed the tension between Russell, 20, and Young, which ESPN reported shortly after the video leaked. “It’s about as bad as it can get. There were trust issues already,” a source told ESPN of the Lakers locker room. “Now there’s no trust.”
“Whatever bro code is or whatever unspoken code that is, I don’t really care. Because I have an actual spoken commitment that you’re going to get married to me! And that involves not doing any of those other things,” she said of Young on Friday. “Screw guy code! I’m not really concerned about guy code. How about what this person said in the video? That’s what I care about sitting at home. I don’t really care about D’Angelo Russell.”
Despite the scandal, Young and Aalea are still engaged. Young has tweeted sporadically since the incident took place and addressed the video during a press conference on March 30. “I think it’s best me and D’Angelo handle our situation in a private manner,” Young told reporters. “It’s something we need to talk about. What happened is what happened. We’ve got to work on it.”
A contrite Russell, meanwhile, apologized to his teammate multiple times. “I am sorry I recorded that video. I feel horrible. I wish this never happened,” the point guard told The Vertical on March 30. “The thing is, we record ourselves doing dumb stuff all the time. On the road or home, wherever. We go back and watch what we did and said and laugh at ourselves. I guess I just never thought that these pranks we pull on ourselves could have bigger consequences. That was a big lesson I learned.”
