Despite rumors to the contrary, Jada Pinkett Smith is confident her 14-year marriage to Will Smith will stand the test of time.
The actress and mom to Trey, 19, Jaden, 14, and Willow, 11, dispels the rampant rumors that she and Smith, 43, are on the verge of calling it quits. "We're not getting a divorce. Where am I gonna go? Where am I going to go? That's my boo," Pinkett Smith, 40, tells the September issue of Essence. "It's like he's another part of me."
Earlier this summer, Pinkett Smith shared her tips for maintaining a happy marriage with Us Weekly. "You need understanding, acceptance, and compassion," the actress advised. "And usually you get understanding through friendship, so you need to have that."
Sadly, Pinkett Smith's relationship isn't the only thing she's been forced to defend in the past year. With her daughter's music career on the rise, the Matrix Reloaded actress hopes to shield her daughter from cruel critics.
"How people feel about Willow is how people feel about Willow. But what I'm most concerned about is how Willow feels about herself," Pinkett Smith tells Essence. "She's an independent, courageous, genius, talented little girl. I'm happy for her, that she can just be who she is."
