We’ve missed you much, Miss Jackson! After months away from the spotlight, Janet Jackson made a rare public appearance on Wednesday, April 29, at Giorgio Armani’s 40th anniversary dinner in Milan, Italy.

The “Doesn’t Really Matter” singer, 48, was photographed holding hands with husband Wissam Al Mana as they made their way into Nobu for the reception. Both wore head-to-toe black, with Jackson sporting black platform sandals, billowy black pants, and a hooded black coat over a black beanie.

The event was the star’s first official engagement since October 2014, when she hit up the Vogue Fashion Dubai Experience Gala on Halloween. With the exception of a shopping trip in Milan this past February, she has kept a very low profile in recent months, even online.

Sightings are so rare, in fact, that fans jokingly circulated a “Missing” flier earlier this month, with Jackson’s photo and identifying information. “Last seen looking like she hopped right out of 1997 into 2015,” the flier read. “Maybe she’s a time traveler? Who knows? Keep an eye out for her.”

It went on to include a plea to the entertainer, who last released a new studio album in 2008: “Seriously Janet, where the hell are you? We NEED you back. We miss you. Your fans miss you. THE MUSIC INDUSTRY NEEDS YOU. Come back and show these young whippersnappers how it’s done!”

Jackson herself retweeted the flier, and then replied to a couple of the fans who’d shared it. “LOL,” she wrote, after nearly four months of Twitter silence. “Too funny, too sweet.”

The “Nasty” performer and Al Mana, a Qatari billionaire, said “I do” in a secret wedding in 2012. Us Weekly broke the news of their engagement that same year. This is her third marriage; she was previously wed to James DeBarge and Rene Elizondo, and also famously dated Jermaine Dupri for several years.
