Kisses from cloud nine! Jason Aldean's new fiancee Brittany Kerr took to Instagram on Thursday, Sept. 25, to show off her new engagement ring and thank fans for their well-wishes, hours after the country singer's rep confirmed to Us Weekly that he had proposed.
"We've been on cloud nine the past few days!!" Kerr, 26, wrote alongside a sunset snap of her locking lips with the "Burnin' It Down" singer. Kerr gave a full view of the large diamond rock on her left ring finger with her hand positioned on Aldean's shoulder.
"My heart has never been more full of happiness and love…" the former American Idol contestant wrote. "Can't wait to spend the rest of my life with this man."
Kerr went on to express gratitude for the next big step in her life. "So many blessings and memories are in our future and SO thankful I get to share them with him. Thanks for all the support and kind words y'all have given us," she concluded.
Aldean's rep confirmed to Us that the "Dirt Road Anthem" crooner and former NBA dancer recently got engaged, while he's on the West Coast leg of his current Burn It Down Tour. Details of the proposal have not yet been revealed, but the couple did not get engaged in the San Diego Zoo as speculated. (Kerr posted an Instagram photo on Thursday, of herself feeding a sea lion. "My man did it again. Today was amazing," she wrote.) In her engagement post, Kerr added the hashtags: "#love #foreverandever #itdidnthappenatthezoo #happyhappyhappy."
This will be the first marriage for Kerr and the second for Aldean, 37, who divorced his wife of 12 years, Jessica Ussery, in April 2013. Aldean's relationship with Kerr has been a topic of controversy since the two were caught kissing in a Hollywood bar in September 2012, while he was still married to Ussery, his high school sweetheart. The former spouses share two little girls, Keeley, 11, and Kendyl, 6.
In a recent interview with Billboard magazine, Aldean blasted critics and told them to move on from his extramarital affair. "It has been two years of this s—," Aldean said of his cheating scandal. "Get over it, already!"
