Jodie Foster is a married woman.
The two-time Academy Award-winning actress and her girlfriend of almost a year, Alexandra Hedison, wed over the weekend.
Foster's rep confirmed the news to Yahoo on Wednesday.
Hedison, 44, a photographer and former actress, is best known for her role in Showtime's "The L Word." She previously dated Ellen DeGeneres more than a decade ago.
Foster was romantically involved for many years with Cydney Bernard, with whom she shares two sons, Charles, 16, and Kit, 13. The two separated in 2008.
Foster came out during a rambling, yet passionate, speech at the 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards in 2013, as she accepted the Cecil B. DeMille Award for lifetime achievement.
"I'm just going to put it out there, loud and proud, right? I am… single. I'm kidding," she joked.
She then got serious: "There is no way I could ever stand here without acknowledging one of the deepest loves of my life, my heroic co-parent, my ex-partner in love but righteous soul sister in life, my confessor, ski buddy, consigliere, most beloved BFF of 20 years, Cydney Bernard. Thank you, Cyd. I am so proud of our modern family."
