Johnny Karagiorgis Dead: ‘Real Housewives of New Jersey’ Guest Star Dies of a Heart Attack

Johnny Karagiorgis, who guest-starred on The Real Housewives of New Jersey, has died, Us Weekly can confirm. The Paramus, New Jersey, resident — known to some as “The Greek” — suffered a massive heart attack on Saturday, June 4.

Johnny’s wife, Penny Drossos, posted about his death on Facebook. “My heart is broken my world is shattered. John Karagiorgis had a massive heart attack yesterday evening and has left us,” she wrote. “Thank you all for your texts messages and support but please understand I’m still in shock n denial that this has happen. Please understand I need sometime to grieve with my kids at this time.”

Drossos paid tribute to her late husband with photos too. On Sunday, she posted a throwback photo from their wedding day and pics of Johnny with their young son and daughter.

Karagiorgis and Drossos had their fair share of drama on the reality TV series in season 5. Karagiorgis filed criminal charges against Joe Gorga and Jacqueline and Chris Laurita after a fight broke out in front of a Ridgewood, New Jersey, boutique in March 2013. The three stars countered and the original charges were dropped.

Karagiorgis co-owned the popular hot dog restaurant Rutt’s Hut in Clifton. Drossos owns Medusa’s Hair Loft, a hair salon in Fair Lawn, New Jersey, which was previously featured on the Bravo series.
