They may be the future King and Queen of England, but the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are really into DIY foodstuffs!
Gracing the cover of the September issue of Vanity Fair, Kate Middleton (pictured in a stunning archived shot from summer 2011) is honored by the mag, topping its annual International Best Dressed List.
But despite the 30-year-old's impeccable and expensive style — her wardrobe reportedly cost $55,000 for six months alone — she and husband Prince William, have a cozy, un-fussy home life at Annglesey, Wales.
The athletic pair are foodies who love homemade roast chicken, and even make their own sausage links with a sausage maker; Middleton does all the cooking and shopping herself, and jars her own stock of strawberry jam and plum preserves, often given out as gifts.
An average day off for the couple? Puttering around and "making tea and toast," a family friend told Vanity Fair. And, as Us Weekly has also reported, the spouses of 15 months love staying home for marathon session of DVD box sets. Most recently, it was AMC's recently cancelled murder mystery show The Killing that Kate and William, 30, binged on at home.
As also reported in Us Weekly, Vanity Fair adds that Middleton is keen to oversee the decoration and renovation of the couple's new apartment in Kensington Palace — working with a professional designer and contractors on a $1.5 million project, which will be funded by Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles.
