Katy Perry loves who she loves, including her fans and an adorable koala bear. The pop singer appeared on Australia's Sunrise TV morning show Wednesday, Mar. 5, to promote her Prismatic tour down under.
The "Dark Horse" crooner, 29, gave an entertaining weather report, met some furry (and slimy) creatures, and entertained questions from fans parked outside the studio in a Today show-style plaza. "We were just wondering if you have a boyfriend," one fan asked.
Laughing, Perry responded, "If I have a boyfriend?" As previously confirmed by Us Weekly, the pop star broke up with on-again, off-again beau John Mayer last week ahead of her massive upcoming world tour. "All of my fans are my boyfriend!" she chirped.
Wearing a long-sleeve floral frock with her hair styled in a short bob with blunt bangs, Perry then leaned over to her new furry friend, a cute koala bear, nestled on the shoulder of a caretaker. "This is my boyfriend!" she exclaimed of the indigenous critter. "See!"
Sources confirmed to Us that Perry and Mayer had parted on good terms after nearly two years of dating. The duo "made the mature decision that it was the right time," an insider told Us.
"She's stressed about the tour, they've been fighting. It is probably for the best, because she is going to be on tour for forever," another insider told Us. "Of course this happens all the time, I can't keep track anymore. But for now they are done."
Following her morning show appearance, Perry swapped the flirty frock for a more low-key outfit — a plaid shirt-dress, fishnet stockings, and a beanie.
