Kelly and Kathy have each other's backs. Kelly Osbourne tweeted that she was "proud" of Kathy Griffin after her former colleague announced on Thursday, Mar. 12, that she was leaving E!'s Fashion Police after just two months.

Osbourne, 30, expressed support for her pal, alongside a photo of the two touching tongues.

Griffin, 54, took to Twitter on Thursday night to explain her sudden departure, which follows Osbourne's own exit last month. "I discovered that my style does not fit with the creative direction of the show and now it's time to move on," Griffin wrote. "When I chose to step into the shoes of my beloved Joan Rivers…I was thrilled to continue her legacy as a woman being brash and eccentric on television."

The comedienne then alluded to the recent controversy involving Giuliana Rancic and her comments about Zendaya Coleman's dreadlocks. "My brand of humor, while unrepentant and unafraid, is all about CONTEXT," Griffin wrote in her extended letter on Twitter. "Listen, I am no saint…But I do not want to use my comedy to contribute to a culture of unattainable perfectionism and intolerance towards difference. I want to help women, gay kids, people of color and anyone who feels underrepresented to have a voice and a LAUGH!"

E! also confirmed to Us Weekly in a statement that Griffin was bowing out from Fashion Police. "We wish her all the best and are grateful for her time on the show, as well as the many laughs that she gave us all," the network told Us. "Fashion Police will return, as scheduled, on Monday, March 30 at 9 p.m. with our talented co-hosts Giuliana Rancic and Brad Goreski and Executive Producer Melissa Rivers."

Griffin's exit announcement was made less than two weeks after Osbourne confirmed she was leaving the program after five years. Foreshadowing her sudden departure in a recent interview, Griffin defended Osbourne and called out Rancic.

"Don’t have anyone write you jokes or even suggest jokes for you on Fashion Police," Griffin said of the E! News host in an interview with the Chicago Sun Times' Splash magazine. "She has enough great insider gossip from actually being on the red carpet. That’s what fans want to hear the next day. Just talk and be yourself."

As for her thoughts about Osbourne? Griffin made it very clear that she had her back. "I can tell you this: I adore that family," she dished. "Kelly came to my house a couple of times when Joan was in the hospital and we were consoling each other. I can tell you there was genuine love there."
