Looks like Kim Kardashian has another reason to thank Anna Wintour other than snagging the cover of Vogue. The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star revealed in British GQ that the Vogue Editor-in-Chief (and Pharrell Williams!) encouraged her and Kanye West to name their baby girl North West.
"I remember this is actually where we decided, finally, on North as a name for our baby girl," Kardashian said while at the Mercer Hotel in NYC.
"It was a rumor in the press and we'd never really considered it seriously, at all, but Kanye and I were having lunch right over there at that table about a year ago and Pharrell came over to us and said 'Oh, my God, are you guys really going to call your daughter North? That is the best name.' I said 'No we're not, that's just a rumor,'" she recalled to the mag.
"Then a little while later Anna Wintour came over and asked the same thing. She told us 'North is a genius name,'" she continued. "Kanye and I looked at one another and just laughed. I guess at that point it sort of stuck."
Kardashian and West's little girl, now nearly 15 months, would later be featured with her famous parents in the April 2014 issue of Vogue. North — sweetly nicknamed Nori — looked adorable during the top secret photo shoot, and even peed on her dad in the process.
