Kim Richards: "I Drank to Cover the Guilt and Shame"

Kim Richards is facing her demons.
In the third and final installment of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reunion Monday, the 47-year-old explained her erratic behavior on the Bravo series.
"I'm an alcoholic," Richards told host Andy Cohen. "I have so much guilt and shame for my behavior and what I did. And then I drank to cover the guilt and shame."

Richards completed her third stint in rehab in January. "I'm a person that has done it and relapsed and done it. But at least I'm trying," the former child star said. "I felt off. I just didn't like me anymore and I couldn't look at myself in the mirror anymore."
Watching The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills was too much for Richards to bear.

"When I first started the season, I was still not drinking and you could see my confidence level. And then you could see just from my behavior when I lost my confidence and started drinking," she said. "I could not watch the show when I saw that behavior coming out of myself because I was so ashamed of what I'd done."
Richards then agreed to watch footage from one of the final episodes, where she appeared intoxicated while scrounging around for her belongings on the bathroom floor.

"I don't know what the heck is going on there, but I felt bad for her," Richards said. "It's just sad. The voice wasn't mine, the mannerisms weren't mine. It just wasn't me."
The Bravo star is determined to stay sober this time around. "I just really want this," she explained. "I'll work really hard for it every day."

I like Kyle a lot. As for Kim she is a snob with a sense of entitlement with an addiction. If I had her money I would get to a Plastic Surgeon and have a full facial laser among other treatments to reduce the appearance of age. I thought she was at least 60 years old. She should not be on the show.
I remember her when she was a cute little girl on nanny and the professor. She's younger then me but she looks older. She was about 5-7 yrs old while I was 11 or 12. Don't know why these celebrities don't invest their money instead of boozing and drugging it all away. It's ridiculous.

Kim Richards is a disgrace to her family. Brandi hurt her family? She simply stated the obvious. If Kim's kids are upset, my guess it's because of her behavior, not Brandi's comments. She is still blaming everyone else and being rude and nasty to her sister (another piece of work) when she should be grateful that anyone is still speaking to her.
She never once took responsiblity for her actions. she blamed Brandi for hurting her family. She never mentioned how much SHE hurt her own family. I don't see her staying sober. It seems more like she's drying out for a while. It will be interesting to see what happens next year.

She is still heavily medicated and needs to face those demons as well. She almost fell asleep while she was talking to Andy. That is not sobriety. Sorry Kim, not trying to bash you but you are in deep denial.
