Kristen Bell: Babies With Dax Shepard Will Be "Our Gift to America"

Kristen Bell has been happily engaged to Dax Shepard since January 2010, but the 31-year-old actress tells Us Weekly they "have no plans" to tie the knot.

"The ring is on my finger," she said at the House of Lies premiere in L.A. Wednesday. "That's all I care about."

Though being married may not be important to the couple, starting a family is. "We'll do it. We'll have some babies," Bell (in a Zuhair Murad dress and Christian Louboutin heels) told Us. "It will be our gift to America."

House of Lies' Ben Schwartz, 30, said Bell and Shepard, 37, are "so fun together," but watching them raise children would be like "a hilarious and terrible sitcom."

That might not be so bad, given that Shepard stars on NBC's Parenthood and Bell has returned to the small screen years after Veronica Mars and Heroes went off the air.

"I realized that I had been missing TV. I like movies a lot, but I love TV," Bell told Us. "And the ideal scenario would be a cable network that had the ability to go further with storylines and not worry about censorship, to have 13 episodes instead of 22, and to not have it be on my shoulders, and to have it be a bit more provocative than anything I'd done before."

"Something fell into my lap that I'm so grateful for, because I loved the script and hearing about Don Cheadle's attachment and it being on Showtime -- it was the three ingredients that I wanted so badly."
