Miranda Lambert Mourns Loss of Beloved Dog Dixie

Miranda Lambert has had a rough start to 2012.
After mourning the loss of her best friend, who was killed in a tragic car crash, and father-in-law, Dick Shelton, the country darling had more sad news to contend with Friday: The death of her beloved pet pooch, Dixie.
"My dog died Thursday. My parents just told me," she tweeted Friday. "Headed now to bury my friend of 20 years."
Thanking fans for their support and words of encouragement, Lambert added a heartfelt follow-up tweet.
"I hope what they say is right: 'What doesn't kill you makes you stronger,'" she wrote.

Lambert, 28, and her husband, Blake Shelton, are expected to travel to Indianapolis, Ind. to sing "America the Beautiful" before Sunday's Super Bowl XLVI.

5So so sorry to learn of this tragic news. Something else to know is true tho, is that when you pass one day, you will be united with all of your loved ones, including Dixie, again! May God heal your wounded heart.
She lost her best friend, father in law AND dog...that is sad. Joan, she was burying her best friend (of 20 years), not the dog.
This is sad ... but hardly newsworthy.
Sad...when you lose a pet.
