Nick Lachey on Vanessa Minnillo: "We've Patched Things Up"

Nick Lachey has reunited with ex Vanessa Minnillo -- and it feels so good.
"I am happy in a relationship," he said Thursday on Good Day Philadelphia. "I was single for a minute there, and then we've kind of patched things up."

He gushed that "she's a very smart girl. She's far smarter than I."

After nearly three years of dating, Lachey, 35 and Minnillo, 28, amicably split in June but remained "good friends", her rep told Usmagazine.com. By late August, they were spotted kissing, making out and dancing together at Los Angeles bar Dime.

Lachey (co-owner of the just-launched auction site winnit.com) told Us Weekly in September, "We're trying to figure things out. I don't pretend to know what the future holds, but everything's good. Vanessa's a good girl, and I care about her a lot."

she's an alcoholic, she was getting trashed and he was probably sick of it. He wants to start a family but she was partying way too much which led to the breakup.
