Pierce Brosnan Stopped by TSA for 10-Inch Knife in Carry-On Bag

Pierce Brosnan had a run-in with TSA over a knife.

Not quite as smooth as James Bond! Pierce Brosnan was stopped by airport security this past weekend after a huge knife was found in his luggage, the BBC reports.

The GoldenEye actor, 62, was preparing to board a plane on Sunday, Aug. 2, at Burlington International Airport in South Burlington, Vt., when TSA agents reportedly found a 10-inch hunting knife in his carry-on bag.

Once the knife was discovered during a screening, Brosnan was required to speak with the security officers and go through another screening before he was cleared by the Transportation Security Administration.

Brosnan was accompanied on the trip by his 14-year-old son, Paris. The two made it to their gate after the security hiccup, eventually boarding their flight. The British actor has yet to comment on the incident, but posted photos to his Instagram account the following day.

For its part, the TSA regularly shares photos of banned items that are found in luggage and prohibited from airplanes. Just last week, the account posted a picture of various knives that were confiscated from travelers' bags.

"These weapons were recently discovered in carry-on bags at TSA checkpoints," the caption reads. "While all knives are prohibited in carry-on bags, they may be packed in checked baggage as long as they’re not illegal where you travel."
