Please welcome to the stage…well, certainly not Rihanna. These days Taylor Swift’s squad of supermodels, actresses, and fellow singers (plus Matt LeBlanc?) seems to be never-ending. But one star has no interest in joining the “Bad Blood” singer in one of her concerts.
“I don’t think I would [join Taylor on stage],” Rihanna told NME magazine in her cover story. “I just don’t think it makes sense. I don’t think our brands are the same: I don’t think they match, I don’t think our audiences are the same. In my mind, she’s a role model; I’m not.”
The “FourFiveSeconds” singer, 27, is also close friends with Katy Perry, who is the subject of Swift’s chart-topping “Bad Blood” single. But Rihanna isn’t the first star to reject the idea of joining Swift’s seemingly flawless group of gal pals.
“I’m not trying to be in the squad,” Miley Cyrus recently told The New York Times. “None of my friends are famous and not because of any other reason than I just like real people who are living real lives, because I’m inspired by them.”
Perry, 30, was also critical of Swift, 25, back in July in the middle of the “Blank Space” singer’s now-settled feud with Nicki Minaj, tweeting, “Finding it ironic to parade the pit women against other women argument about as one unmeasurably capitalizes on the take down of a woman…”
