The way they were! Naya Rivera and Ryan Dorsey announced their split on Monday, November 21, but it was almost a full three months before then that the Glee alum stopped mentioning her love via social media.
Rivera, 29, last posted about the Pitch actor, 33, on August 31. “FaceTime with #TommyMiller from the set of #pitchonfox miss my guy! ❤️❤️,” she captioned the screenshot, which featured Dorsey in character with his Pitch curls.
Since then, the Sorry Not Sorry author has shared photos of their son, Josey, 14 months, as well as behind-the-scenes shots from photo shoots and flirty pics of her zombie Halloween costume. But there have been no more mentions of her husband of two years.
And now we know why. Rivera filed for divorce on November 15, asking for primary custody of Josey with visitation rights for Dorsey. On November 21, the couple confirmed their separation in a statement: “After much consideration, we have made the decision to end our marriage. Our priority is and always will be our beautiful son that we share together. We will continue to be great co-parenting partners for him. We ask for respect and privacy for our family during this difficult time.”
As fans may recall, the multihyphenate and Dorsey married in July 2014 — on the same day she and her ex-fiancé, Big Sean, were set to wed. Rivera later claimed in her memoir that she and the “I Don’t F–k With You” rapper split because he cheated on her with Ariana Grande.
