First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes … well, we’ll see. Sofía Vergara opened up about the possibility of having children with her husband, Joe Manganiello, in the March issue of Harper's Bazaar Arabia, telling the magazine that the couple aren’t really in a rush to be parents together.
“I cannot just expect anything natural anymore,” the 43-year-old actress told the publication. “We’ll see what happens. It’s not something that doesn’t let us sleep. But it’s not something I am completely opposed to.”
Vergara is already mom of Manolo Gonzalez-Ripoll Vergara, 23, from her first marriage, to high school sweetheart Joe Gonzalez. Manganiello, 39, does not have any children.
The Modern Family actress added that being a young, single mom made her appreciate just how much Manolo’s good behavior helped her out as a parent.
“I was a single mom for a long time and he always supported and helped me, made it easy to be able to work,” she said. “I never had to worry about him. When you have a problem all the time, you are unable to be creative and think. As a single mother, I was able to do everything I wanted to do.”
She and the Magic Mike star tied the knot in a lavish Palm Beach, Florida, wedding last November and have been happily enjoying their married life since.
Last May, the Colombian star told Cosmo for Latinas that starting a family was actually not first on their list of things to-do.
“When you’re with somebody that hasn’t had kids, and you want to start a relationship, of course there’s always that question,” she told the magazine at the time. “And if it happens, it will be something that will make us very happy, but it’s not a priority in our lives.”
