Beyonce's little sister is spending the summer on the stunning Caribbean island, putting the finishing touches to her third album. And the DJ and singer-songwriter seemed to be enjoying every minute of her special day as she took to Instagram to share a couple of snaps of her favorite moments.

"Today couldn't have been more perfect," the record label owner wrote. "I couldn't have smiled harder. Thank you for all of your lovely and wonderful wishes. They warmed my heart and I simply feel grateful for all of the love."

Knowles' birthday marks the end of a somewhat controversial 27th year for the singer, whose escapades in an elevator, attacking brother-in-law Jay Z at a Met Gala afterparty as her sister Beyonce watched, went mega-viral back in May.

And posing in the arms of video director Ferguson, 51, her long term boyfriend, Solange appears to be in a much more peaceful frame of mind.

"Luckily, I dated all of the losers ages ago," she said of her relationship of with Ferguson in March, with whom she lives, along with her 8-year-old son Daniel Julez from 3-year-marriage to Daniel Smith when she was just 17. "My love life has been stable for a while. It's a f--ked-up thing—without conflict it's a lot harder to write interesting songs."
