Tia Mowry Says Sister, Sister Reunion Is Possible, Remembers Babysitting Olsen Twins

Tia Mowry
Tia Mowry told Meredith Vieira that a Sister, Sister reunion is possible, just as long as fans "really want it" -- plus, she looks back on babysitting the Olsen twins!

The takeover of the twins! Tia Mowry appeared on the Meredith Vieira Show on Friday, May 1, where she discussed a possible reunion of her beloved ’90s show Sister, Sister.

Vieira noted how the upcoming reboot of Full House has people talking about other smash shows on the TGIF lineup, including the sitcom featuring Tia and Tamera.

“I knew you were going to ask that,” Tia, 36, replied. “So many people, they want to see us back and, you know, I would love to. It’s just all about timing. I am working on [The Real] right now and my sister is working on a show, so we’ll see. The fans, they really want it, so we’ll give it to them probably.”

In the series, which aired from 1994 to 1999, Tia and Tamera played twin sisters separated at birth. The girls, raised under different parents — an absentminded mother (Jackee Harry) and strict father (Tim Reid) — one day find each other during a shopping excursion.

During her interview on Friday, Tia also dished some details on Full House, where the Mowry sisters were discovered. “My brother [Tahj Mowry, now 28], he played Teddy,” she said of her younger sibling’s recurring role as Michelle Tanner’s pal. “So, we would always go and visit the set, and my sister and I — a lot of people don’t know this — we would actually babysit the Olsen twins.”

Have Tia and Tamera kept in touch with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen? “I mean, we’re not friends,” she noted of the designers. “But of course if we see each other we will say hi. The producers that would hang around on the set, they were like, ‘These girls are so adorable.’ We even did a guest spot on Full House. It’s kind of like where we got our first start.”

Meanwhile, it was announced last month that most original cast members of Full House are slated to return for a one-hour special in 2016, which will then be followed by a 12-episode original Netflix series called Fuller House.
