Trevor Moran Talks Passing Out on X Factor, New Album, and His Love for Taylor Swift: Watch

The life of a famous YouTuber! Trevor Moran recently stopped by the Us Weekly offices in New York and dished about when he famously fainted on The X Factor in 2012, life as an Internet celebrity, and much more.

Moran’s online fame (remember his viral Apple Store videos?) led him to audition for The X Factor in front of judges Britney Spears, Demi Lovato, L.A. Reid, and Simon Cowell. “I was super excited to see Britney and Demi, and obviously Simon because I grew up watching American Idol!” the 17-year-old tells Us.

Moran got his chance in Season 3, but when the time came for him to go onstage, nerves got the best of the YouTube star and he passed out and had to be tended to by on-site paramedics. As for why he fainted, Moran explains, “I’d never had a 5-Hour Energy before and I felt possessed! I couldn’t control my body!”

The teen was fine and successfully performed for the judges, but didn’t make it past the Boot Camp stage of the competition. But that hasn’t stopped him from pursuing his dreams. Moran has since toured the country promoting his EP, XIAT, and has a new one on the way!

“I’m getting ready to release another EP in January and it’s super cool. I’m really proud! It’s like a baby when you have the idea and in your head and then you finally write it down, it’s so cool.”

The singer also reveals to Us which celebrity inspires him the most. “Taylor Swift! She’s just so funny and her social media is literally goals and her cat!” he says. “Have you seen her cat?!”
