Usher Falls Victim to Internet Death Hoax

Rest assured, music fans: Usher is alive and well.
Despite rumors he perished in a Tuesday car crash in New Mexico, the R&B powerhouse is fully present -- and took to Twitter to prove it.

"I must've died and went to heaven...Alive and cold kickin ass!!" Usher, 33, tweeted after the rumors surfaced, posting a pic of himself shirtless and sweaty. He later added: "Livin' Legend!" The false report of the singer's death was originated by Global Associated News, which posted a detailed accident report describing the crash said to have involved Usher.
In the fine print of the article, however, a disclaimer can be found declaring the item to be false. "THIS STORY IS 100% FAKE! this is an entertainment website, and this is a totally fake article based on zero truth and is a complete work of fiction for entertainment purposes!" reads the disclaimer.

The faux news site has also perpetuated death hoaxes about Reba McEntire, Jon Bon Jovi and several other stars.
